Christmas Fundraiser Rides 2024
This Christmas, we're trialling three relaxed Christmas Fundraiser Rides that will run over the Christmas period when we'll be closed for normal cycle hire.

The rides will be led by Gill Hale, one of our cycling instructors, along with other staff and volunteers.

Rides are open to Pedal Power members and non-members and participants can bring their own cycle or use one of ours. Read on for all the details...

Please read the details on this page and then register using our online form (if joining more than one ride, please register each separately). Any payment must be made before we close at 4pm on Saturday 21st December.

Details that are relevant for all rides:
 
  • Rides are marshalled by Pedal Power staff and volunteers and start and finish at Pedal Power, Pontcanna.
  • To take part in a ride you must be able to cycle, have good control of the steering and brakes, and the gears where present.
  • Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather. Helmets are optional.
  • Please arrive at 10.00am for set-up, briefing and cycle safety checks
  • There will be a cafe-stop en-route - please bring money if you might want to buy a drink!
  • We're asking for suggested donations to take part - please see details below.
  • **Any payment must be made before we close at 4pm on Saturday 21st December (payment can't be taken on the day as our payment system will be switched off).**

Details for Ride #1 - Bute Park & Secret Garden Cafe

Friday 27th December - 10am meet, back around 12 noon

Gentle 4 miles / approx. 2 hours in total (with cafe stop). Route Map

Suggested donation: £6 with own cycle or £10 if using PP cycle
Details for Ride #2 - Castell Coch & Forest Cafe

Sunday 29th December - 10am meet, back around 2.30pm

12 miles / approx. 4.5 hours in total (with cafe stop). Route Map

Suggested donation: £12 with own cycle or £20 if using PP cycle
Details for Ride #3 - Cardiff Bay & Wales Millennium Centre

Tuesday 31st December - 10am meet, back around 1.30pm

8 miles / approx. 3 hours in total (with cafe stop). Route Map

Suggested donation: £10 with own cycle or £15 if using PP cycle
