Welcome to your news and events update

And the times, they are a changing...

In more ways than one! Firstly, the clocks go back this Saturday. The pro? We all get an extra hour in bed. The con? it'll be dark earlier (but lighter in the morning if you're an early riser).

Secondly, we'll be changing to our Winter opening hours from Tuesday 3rd November. This means our days will be shorter and we'll be closed on Sundays:

Pontcanna opening from 3rd November: 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday (last hire at 2.50pm and last cafe orders at 3.30pm).

But before that, we have Half Term next week, and we still have places available on our Learn to Ride course for children aged 5 and above (see below). And of course we'll be open as usual for lovely, autumnal cycle rides, and delicious food and drinks in our cafe!

Guitars are back!

Every Friday in our cafe at 11.30am

We are delighted that students from the RWCMD will be playing classical guitar in our cafe - for all to sit, relax, listen and enjoy!

Raising funds for Llamau

Would you like to support Keys on her mission to raise funds for Llamau?

Here's her story...

My name is Keys and on the 7th of November I’m going to be running 55 miles to raise money for and awareness of Llamau.

In full honesty, I’m really not a “runner”. Because of my impairments, I have been in and out of wheelchairs my whole life. But I’m taking on this challenge as I have been in the position many of Llamau’s service users are also in, unsafe in their own home and in vital need of support. I’m running so that less people have to.

Starting at Theatre Brycheiniog, Brecon, at 7am and ending at the Senedd in Cardiff, this incredible challenge is a terrifying one to be doing alone. Therefore, I am reaching out to see if any of your community would like to join for some of the route. Whether you can walk, wheel, cycle or run for a second or an hour, everyone is welcome. Please email me at rightkeysonly@gmail.com if you'd like to get involved in any way. Thank you!

Our City, Our Stories Exhibition

12th-24th October, Cardiff Central Library

A free, interactive exhibition sharing the musical memories of Cardiff's diverse communities.

Our City, Our Stories is the culmination of an intergenerational oral history project funded through a Welsh Government Priorities for Culture grant. The project has brought together younger and older Cardiff residents to share and record memories of the city's rich musical heritage, from legendary performances by The Beatles and The Clash to iconic venues such as the Top Rank Suite, and the songs, artists and moments that have helped shape people's lives.

The exhibition will be hosted on the third floor of Central Library and admission is free. Following its run at Central Library Hub, smaller versions of the exhibition will tour community hubs across the city, with further details to be announced in due course.

That's it for now - have a great week!

Our current opening times

Pontcanna : 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday (last hire at 3.50pm and last cafe order at 4.30pm)
