Your weekly update #31

Giant butterflies? It must be the Butetown Carnival Parade this Sunday!! Come and cheer us on!

Welcome to this week's news and events update

£11.7K! That's the amount raised through 12 Hours for Pedal Power. Huge thanks to everyone who took part and supported this event - a first for us, we learnt a lot and if we have the energy, we hope to do something similar next year!

This Sunday is the start of the Butetown Carnival, which kicks off with the spectacular parade that, as is now tradition, features Pedal Power cycles ridden by volunteers and members of Innovate Trust. This year the cycles will be adorned with giant dragons and other creatures, all made here at Pedal Power under the guidance of local community artists, Niki!

All welcome to come and see the parade and cheer on its many vibrant and diverse participants. Parade leaves Butetown Health Centre around 12 noon and finishes at the Wales Millennium Centre.

Road closures

Sunday 6th September - the Kidney Wales Cardiff 10K will cause a number of rolling road closures along the route from 9am to 1pm. Route passes close to Pedal Power so access will be disrupted for much of the morning. You can see route and timed closures here. Roads should be open from 1pm at the latest.
