Hello! I'm back from my very modest travels so your period of peace and quiet is over. That said, I'd like to get the balance right when communicating with you, so if you have an opinion on how frequently you'd like to hear from us, please reply to this email and let me know. Currently, I tend to send an email most weeks. Is this:

Cor Meibion Taf fundraising event

Despite a chilly evening, last week's Cor Meibion Taf fundraising event was a real success, raising nearly £900 for Pedal Power. We'd like to say a huge thank you to Cor Meibion Taf and ClwbNi for their brilliant performances and to everyone who made a donation and came along to make it a such a lovely event. We're already planning the next one so watch this space!

Road closures

There is a cricket match starting at 10.30am tomorrow (Thursday 24th September). We haven't been told of any road closures, but there maybe some disruption when accessing the spine road leading to our carpark. If the road is closed, then the Dogo Street gate will be opened.

And on Sunday 4th October, there's the Cardiff Half Marathon, a huge event with over 29,000 runners. The roads immediately around Pedal power are unaffected, however there are closures planned for the city centre and many surrounding areas, so please plan ahead if travelling by car that day.

Unwanted gift card amnesty!

What? Hear us out...we suspect there are lots of people who receive gift cards and vouchers that they never actually use, which means that lots of value is simply never redeemed. If you're one of these people, you could give them to us! It would act as a donation like any other, and we will use them only to benefit Pedal Power (e.g. use them as raffle prizes, for staff and volunteer team events, buy items that the charity needs etc.).

Places where gift cards languish include cluttered drawers, slightly gritty pockets, little-used areas of wallets and purses and of course, the very bottom of hand-bags. So please have a rummage and gift us any of your unwanted gift cards - we promise to out them to good use!

We have boxes at reception and in the cafe for you to pop any unwanted gift cards/vouchers into. We'll also provide envelopes where you can include any details that may be needed to redeem the value. Thank you!

Damo's not-a-pub quiz

Wednesday 30th September - 1.30-2.30pm

The questions are written and Damo is itching to ask them. Free and open to all.

Children's half-term cycling lessons (please share with anyone who may be interested)

Learn to Ride (beginners, 5+). Two sessions - 2.30-3.30pm on Tuesday 27th and Friday 30th October

£30 per child or £25 for Pedal Power members. Cycle included if needed. Held at Talybont netball courts, Cardiff University.

Introduction to Road Riding (9+). One 4-day course - 10am-12pm, Tuesday 27th to Friday 30th October

£120 with own cycle or £140 with Pedal Power cycle. Sessions will take place in Penarth.

Now in their 8th year, the Cardiff Volunteer Awards organised by C3SC celebrates the magnificent voluntary contributions in our city.

Help to celebrate the people who give their time to make Pedal Power the wonderful charity and community it is by putting forward a nomination for one or more of our magnificent volunteers.

Take part in Ask Cardiff

Ask Cardiff is an annual survey run by Cardiff Council that gives people living, working or studying in Cardiff, as well as those visiting the city, the chance to share their experiences of public services. By taking around 20 minutes to complete this survey, you help them to:
