Welcome to your 28th newsletter of 2026!I know, I can't quite believe it either, but a quick sum-up of previous newsletters since the start of the year suggests it's true! And still there's no shortage of things to tell you, because the wheels here at Pedal Power are turning faster than ever (or at least it feels like that for our staff and volunteers)! Road ClosuresPlease be aware that there will be road closures on the following dates that may affect car travel to Pedal Power 7th, 9th & 12th August - due to the cricket, the spine road to our carpark will be affected at different times of the day. Please plan ahead if driving to us that day! 'Amazing', 'Inclusive', 'Fun', 'Friendly', 'Accessible'...These are just some of the words that many of the respondents to our recent survey used to describe Pedal Power. Thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the survey - we had a a great response and it's given us some valuable insights in to how our customers feel about us, as well as what they'd would like to see more of. And there was clear support for expanding community activity at Pedal Power, the most popular being: · Social and community events · Cycle skills and confidence building · Food and café-based events · Health and wellbeing activities · Skills development opportunities So, now we know what to focus on so we can continue to make Pedal Power ever better for our customers, volunteers and the wider community...watch this space. In Memory of Mike SaltSadly, a great friend to Pedal Power, Mike Salt, recently passed away. Over many years, Mike supported us by helping to channel several donations from Unite Union, for which we're hugely grateful. Mike was also a regular at our cafe along with other members of the Friends Reunited group. He is missed by many here at Pedal Power, and our thoughts and condolences go to his friends and family.
